Position DescriptionJoin a growing and innovative Advancement team at Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership. the gift Management Coordinator is central to the day-to-day operations of the organization and helps HurricaneIsland maintain our collaborative and intentional community. A successful candidate must be well-organized, flexible, reliable, and able to function in a dynamic working environment. The GiftManagement Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Advancement and is responsible for maintaining Hurricane Island’s donor database and other donor information systems. The Gift Management Coordinator works collaboratively in a support role ensuring the primary functions of the Advancement Office and represents the organization with a donor-centered and relationship-building approach while protecting the confidentiality of all donor information. This position assists with events and donor stewardship (both on and off-island), and provides year-round in-person office support. Travel to Hurricane Island and occasional weekend hours are expected. The position is a full-time year-round position with benefits. Job ResponsibilitiesGift Management, Database, and Donor information Management●Receive and record all donations and process donor acknowledgments●Manage the organization’s donor database and donor information systems ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and proper filing and handling of all proprietary information●Prepare gift reports weekly, monthly, and as requested●Provide donor invitation lists for various development events●Attend meetings and events as requested
Donor Appeals●Manage donor solicitation lists for all direct mailing and electronic fundraising appeals●Work with Director of Advancement and full team to assist with design, editing, and distributionof donor appeals●Coordinate with Board Members and the full staff as requiredStewardship Responsibilities●Provide administrative support for the Advancement Director●Represent the organization with a donor-centered and relationship-building approach●Provide assistance in all aspects of event planning and outreach as requested●Provide support and staffing at events needed●Provide prospect research and general support for all aspects of the advancement effortsEssential Qualifications●Holds an Associate or Bachelor’s degree●Proven ability to work collaboratively in a flexible work environment●Exceptional organizational and time management skills●Highly detailed oriented●Demonstrated personal integrity and ability to retain confidential records●Enthusiasm for teamwork, feedback, and open communication across all departments●Ability to manage multiple projects and oversee numerous assignments simultaneously●Professional knowledge of Content Management Systems (CRM)●Prior experience managing donor database systems●Strong written and verbal communication skills●Familiarity with Google Suite●Professional fluency with Excel and other MS Office Suite software●Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups●Demonstrated initiative to identify and complete projects and work independently or as part of ateam with minimal supervisionas required.●Effective communication and interpersonal skills.●U.S. Citizen or non-citizen permanent resident.Preferred Additional Qualifications●Working experience in a philanthropy department●Prior experience working in a non-profit organization compensation -HOURLY NON-EXEMPT $17 – $22/this is a year-round position with benefits.
